“I will be campaigning with my heart and soul to win that vote and to deliver this Brexit deal, for the good of our United Kingdom and all of our people.” Theresa May has written an open letter to the British public to appeal for their support for the Brexit deal. She said her plan promises a “brighter future” for the UK and leaving the EU will be “a moment of renewal and reconciliation for our whole country”. EU leaders are in Brussels for a special summit to decide whether to endorse the deal. Many UK MPs – including Conservatives – say they will vote against it. Who are the Sentinelese? An endangered tribe in the Andaman islands off India’s east coast has hit headlines across the world, after an American was killed when he attempted to visit illegally. 27-year-old John Allen Chau had paid local fishermen to take him to North Sentinel, but he was shot at with arrows. Click the link in our bio for the full story. Officials say the islanders have lived in isolation for nearly 60,000 years and therefore have no immunity to common illnesses such as the flu and measles, so visits from outsiders can put their entire population at risk. #Sentinelese #tribes#tribal #Andaman #NorthSentinel #bbcnews

A heart-stopping moment! ? This one-year-old baby fell onto tracks in India seconds before a train passed over her. Incredibly, she survived without a single scratch. It happened at a station in Mathura, Uttar Pradesh, where thankfully she landed in the gap between the floor and the track. Though she was clearly tearful, her lucky escape brought tears of joy for everyone around her. #India #instagood#lucky #Mathura #Uttarpradesh #bbcnews

These are the stories of some of history’s most talented women whose achievements were overshadowed by male relatives. 1) Einstein. Not Albert – but his first wife Mileva. There has been significant debate around how much she contributed to his discoveries but she certainly was a top scientist in her own right. Swipe right for the second part of their story. 2) The iconic painting of The Great Wave off Kanagawa was painted by Katsushika Hokusai. But art historians say some other works attributed to him may have been painted by his daughter Katsushika Oei. 3) The astronomer Caroline Herschel discovered eight comets – one was even named after her. Her work is less well-known than her brother William’s, who discovered the planet Uranus. 4) Fanny Mendelssohn wrote hundreds of musical compositions. Most of her works were unpublished in her lifetime. Some of those that were, were published under her brother Felix’s name.
