Last week I went to the premiere of @whentheyseeus at the @apollotheater. And let me tell you, @ava’s done it again. The compelling story of five Black and Latino teenagers wrongly convicted of a crime they did not commit is a story that must be seen. Hope you stream it today on @netflix. #WhenTheySeeUs

I want to thank Jesus and the Ancestors. Just finished with the 19th graduation at Colorado Springs College of the original OWLAG girls who came to the US as my daughter-girls. Doing the toi-toi happy dance!

I discovered this young woman at 12 trying to take care of her 5 brothers and sisters. Today she officially breaks it last week — it’s likely to fit with the Class of 2019 motto, as uttered by Black Panther Party activist Angela Davis: “You have to act as if it were possible to radically transform the world. And you have to do it all the time.” the cycle. The first in her family to graduate from college and build a different life. So proud of you NK!

These guys are SENSATIONAL. @ainttooproudmusical is a must see celebration for anyone whose ever hummed “My Girl” or loved the Temps. Standing ovations and 12 Tony nominations much deserved???? #AintTooProud
