? #BBG!!! The resistance workouts in my program are ALL 28 minutes. This 28 minute workout is divided into FOUR 7-minute circuits. 4 circuits x 7 minutes = 28 mins! Here is how you complete them. -Circuit 1 for seven minutes- There are 4 exercises per circuit (the reps are next to the exercise). Do as many laps of those exercises as you can until the 7 minute timer runs out. . -Circuit 2 for seven minutes- Do as many laps of those exercises as you can until the seven minute timer runs out. . LISS – low intensity steady state training. I personally prefer walking on a treadmill for 30 minutes while watching Netflix on my phone! (new episodes of Blacklist just came out- so excited haha). I have also realised that you can place your phone on the treadmill and FaceTime your best friends. Then they can entertain you for 30 minutes haha. It works perfectly for me! I’m currently reducing my walk speed from 6.0kph to 5.0kph. This feels comfortable for me now and it’s so important to listen to your body. STOP setting unrealistic goals for yourself! An example of an unrealistic goal is: “I am going to go to the gym everyday, starting Monday”. Instead try to focus on on the SPECIFICS of how you are going to get there. For example: “I am going to try to get to the gym twice next week, starting 7am Monday. I know I am going to need to allow a certain amount of time and have these things prepared. I will also need to have bread and fruit at home so I can eat in the morning before the gym. Start a 14 minute timer – how many laps can you do??? For the ladies doing #BBG, don’t feel too discouraged if you have trouble finishing a circuit! Over time your strength and endurance will both increase and you should find completing these exercises easier. If you can’t complete a circuit within the 7 minutes, continue onto the next circuit. Getting motivated, being disciplined and creating healthy habits can be really hard. When you combine that with all of the usual stress life can throw at you, sometimes it can be overwhelming. If you feel like this is impacting your ability to stay healthy here are a few simple tips to help ease that and get you back to where you want to be. ✅ AVIOD CAFFEINE – avoiding stimulants like coffee can help to reduce anxiety! ✅ TALK TO A FRIEND – even though you may not feel like it helps… it does. Sometimes you just need to say things out loud. ✅ DEEP BREATHING – not just one deep breath…ACTUALLY sit down for a few minutes, breathe in for 7 seconds, hold it, breathe out for 4 seconds. Repeat 10 times at your own pace. ✅ NAP – a quick 20-40 minute nap is sometimes all you need! ✅ A BATH – my personal favourite. A bath will help relax your muscles and mind. [[ Staying healthy while travelling ]] I don’t mean IN the country you land in… I mean on the PLANE! Planes can be an absolute nightmare sometimes so I want you to remember these 5 things. PREP.SNACK.SLEEP.DRINK.MOVE. ☑️ PREP YOUR OWN FOOD – You are allowed on the plane with food. You just can’t take the food off with you. Prep some fresh fruit, sandwiches, veggies, nuts and any other healthy snack you can think of in an air-tight container! ☑️ SNACK – You are going to get hungry and it’s better that you have your OWN snacks than the often unhealthy ones on offer. You will feel a whole lot better having food you know that you prepared. ☑️SLEEP – Try to rest as MUCH as you can both during travel and when you arrive. Fatigue is a big thing for me right now in my third trimester and it’s so important to listen to what your body needs. ☑️ DRINK WATER – I know it can be frustrating going to the bathroom every 30 minutes but it’s worth it, trust me. Staying super hydrated will also help to reduce swelling on long flights. ☑️ MOVE – Yes even if it is only to the bathroom and back, you need to move your legs around! Get up and walk as far as you can to the front of the plane, then to the back of the plane and finally back to your seat. I’ve been wearing beyond yoga maternity leggings (the most comfortable ever) and shorts and that’s about it when it comes to maternity wear! I have just been buying bigger sizes in stuff that I love. I’m sticking to shorts or leggings, a crop top(sports bra) with a long top over the top. OR no long top and adding in a cropped sweater/hoodie! I have tried so many maternity wear brands and they are super conservative (which is great) but not when you are into fitness and want to train! There are also some amazing maternity wear brands that are super functional when it comes to helping you with back pain etc etc but again, they don’t look the best, they are so hard to put on with a bump… and they are just not as comfortable as my favourites!! Lululemon have some INCREDIBLE soft leggings you can wear up to 40 weeks pregnant that are not maternity leggings. Lorna Jane sports bras and long tops. Alo Yoga for the most comfortable sports bras, sweat pants and hoodies, APL for easy slip on training shoes and slides, Blanqi for support bands… and much more! I’ve always decided against doing sponsorship deals because I want to be able to let all you girls know what I think is best for you. This was me, second trimester – wondering WHEN I was going to start to feel better. I certainly felt better than the FIRST trimester but I definitely didn’t feel what everyone was telling me. “You’ll feeling amazing second trimester”, “You’ll get all your energy back”, “It gets so much better!”. I got marginally better but I didn’t feel ‘great’. I’m now 31 weeks (third trimester) and I am feeling MUCH better. I still need a nap/rest every day but other than that, I feel good. I’m just listening to my body and making sure I am fed, hydrated and rested! Training comes last in that list when it comes to pregnancy. That’s not to say you don’t do it, that’s just to say that you need to focus on eating, resting and staying hydrated BEFORE you go and do anything. ? www.kaylaitsines.com/app

MUFFIN UPDATE ?? 10.5 weeks difference in these two photos! I literally CANNOT believe how fast my little muffin is growing ? I have been told she’s a “big baby” measuring in the high 80’s in percentile BUT I’ve had many people tell me this was also the case for them and their baby was average size ?…. whatever, as long as she’s healthy and happy I don’t mind. The only thing I’m probably not enjoying right now is the fact that my torso is SO TINY, she has her little feet under my ribs ? I did my gestational diabetes test and all that and everything has come back perfect ? For the people asking what I do in terms of training and diet (when I’m not pregnant) I eat a Mediterranean diet full of olive oil, fresh vegetables, fresh fruits, breads, seafood and meats. I drink Turkish coffee (one a day), I stay hydrated (water and herbal tea) and I do not drink alcohol. I walk almost everyday and I workout (resistance training) ONLY 3-4 times per week for 28 mins. So to put that in perspective… I workout for LESS than 2 hours a week in a gym while eating a Mediterranean diet and having coffee. NO training supplements at all (no pre or post workout powders) I also do not have protein powder. I have a healthy balanced diet. www.kaylaitsines.com/app @izkiz

➖ HOW I EAT MY FOOD ➖ Chew it? No, I’m joking. It’s an odd thing to talk about, I know. I’m talking about what ORDER I eat my food in. When I sit down at dinner there’s ALWAYS 4 things in front of me. Water, some sort of carbs, some sort of salad and some sort of protein!. I ALWAYS eat my salad first. If I don’t eat it first, I most likely won’t eat it AT ALL. Now, I do not do this to “fill up on salad”. I do it because greens/fresh veggies are amazing and I need to eat more of them! I make SURE I have them first. Then, I eat my protein and my carbs together and try not to drink too much water DURING dinner (just small sips). If you drink TOO much water at dinner, you can feel full (which you are not) and that can lead to you not getting enough FOOD into your body. When it comes to soft drink, look – I’m not a big fan of it but I would not recommend drinking it BEFORE you eat. The same thing can happen, you can FEEL full without being fed. 30 weeks pregnant ?? For the ladies asking, I’ve gained 10kgs so far (22 pounds). I was all good until I came back from America and now I can literally FEEL the swelling starting in my legs. It’s SUPER hot in Adelaide at the moment which probably isn’t helping! I’m actually going to book in a pregnancy massage in every week from now until birth so I can keep the circulation going ? I am yet to do a workout or even walk because of how tired I was. However last night I got 8 hours sleep so I’m feeling a little better! Jet lag is a lot harder when you are pregnant ? I’m going to do my absolute best tomorrow to get up and walk in the morning before it gets WAY too hot. The little things I am doing to stay healthy are …walking, drinking plenty of water, eating lots of fresh fruits and vegetables and resting … A LOT! It was tough at the beginning; the workouts were physically and mentally challenging and often bought me to tears. It’s just the AIRPORT food and plane food that I struggle with! It’s such a long flight. NYC – LA (5.5 hours) LA – MELBOURNE (15 hours) MELBOURNE TO ADELAIDE (1 HOUR) Adds up to around 24-25 hours of flying AND waiting in airports!
